Tamsyn Muirs dritte Nominierung für den dritten Roman der Locked-Tombs-Serie aka „Necromantic Lesbian Goth Nuns in Outer Space“.
Sie hat bestimmt gute Chancen in der Kategorie beste Serie.

Kowal und Scalzi haben beide bereits je einmal den Hugo für den besten Eoman gewonnen, für die Mexikanerin Moreno-Garcia und für Travis Baldree sind es die ersten Nominierungen.

"Scholomance" von nociv hab ich auch schon gelesen, das ist richtig guter Stoff, hätte den Huge verdient. Und "Severance" in der long form.

"Die Tochter des Doktor Moreau" gibt's auch schon auf deutsch (Festa).

Oh, cool. Wird gekauft.

EDIT: Ist bei Limes erschienen, nicht bei Festa.

Also:

Von den short Storys ist nur eine zu bekommen, "D.Y.I", von Tor für 1,79 Euro (jetzt im Ernst, eBooks ist ja wohl DIE möglichkeit um Kurzgeschichten zu publizieren, besondern wenn die auf Short Lists stehen, wieso macht das keiner?)

Noveletts: keine verfügbar, nicht als alleinstehendes Werk.

Bei den Novella klingt vor allem "Ogres" interresant. Zudem: alle auf Anazon gesichtet, keines davon kostet weniger als 10€ als eBook, außer "What moves the dead".

Das les ich doch Legends & Lates! Udn diesed Kingfischer Ding... da sollte man auch mal ein Auge drauf werfen. Und dieses "Spare Man" Ding? Das auch. Ich kriege Retrovibes.

Nichts für mich: Scalzi und das mit der Tocher. Ich finde das ganze Moreu Ding sowas von langweilig. Aber das Cover ist hübsch.

"Nettle and Bone" heißt auf Deutsch "Wie man einen Prinzen tötet" und ist im April bei Eichborn erschienen.

Das deutsche Cover ist so lahm da schalfe ich schon beim Anschaun ein.

Legends & Lattes ist auch schon auf deutsch erschienen, siehe mein Eingangspost oben.

Ich war mal so frei und habe die Textwüste etwas leserlicher gestaltet und noch ein paar deutsche Cover eingebunden

Scalzi habe ich mir mal vorbestellt, klang interessant.

Das hatte ich im Buchladen schon mal herumstehen sehen, es aufgrund des Titels und Covers aber nicht so richtig ernstgenommen und deshalb keinen zweiten Blick darauf geworfen. Bei näherem Hinsehen könnte es aber vielleicht doch ganz witzig sein.

Auch das Cover ist Müll.

Ich mag die deutschen Cover. Nicht so mutig wie die Originale, aber irgendwie nett. Bis auf das von Deonn, das ist 2000er-Schrott.

Mary Robinette Kowals „The Spare Man“ ist wohl eine Hommage an die alten „Der dünne Mann“-Filme aus den 30er und 40er Jahren mit Myrna Loy und William Powell in den Hauptrollen, der erste Film der Reihe aus sechs Filmen basierte auf dem letzten Roman von Dashiell Hammett

Und für die, die nicht wissen, was Kaijū sind: das sind die hochhaushohen Monster aus den japanischen Monsterfilmen. Godzilla (Gojira), Mothra, Mecha-Godzilla, King Ghidora, aber auch Gamera aus der konkurrierenden Filmreihe sind Kaijū. Und man kann auch King Kong dazu zählen, das Monster aus dem koreanischen „The Host“ und die Monster aus „Pacific Rim“.
