Der Verlag hat in der Vergangenheit schon einiges an phantastischen Jugendbüchern veröffentlicht, setzt aber seit diesem Jahr auch verstärkt auf epische Fantasy. Aufgefallen ist er mir, weil er den sehr originelllen und gut geschriebenen Roman "Will of the Many" von James Islington bringt, den ich für einen anderen Verlag begutachtet hatte.Doop hat geschrieben: 6. Bei dem Buch hänge ich total, ich weiß nicht was das besondere daran sein soll ehrlich gesagt.Pogopuschel hat geschrieben: 7. Adrian Tchaikovsky hat 2023 "Best Series" für die "Child of Time"-Reihe gewonnen. Nach seinem Auftritt beim Elstercon im letzten Herbst würde ich sagen: Sehr sympathischer Typ übrigens!

Robert Jackson Bennett ist mit seinem Roman „The Tainted Cup“ auch für einen Edgar als bester Kriminalroman des Jahres nominiert. Es geht wohl um einen unmöglichen Mord mit Holmes-ähnlicher, exzentrischer Detektivin nebst überfordertem Watson-mäßigem Sidekick in einer Fantasywelt. Band 2 ist gerade erschienen. Da höre ich die nächste „Beste Serie“-Nominierung doch schon trappsen.
Es gab schon einmal einen Roman, der für Hugo und Edgar nominiert war, und der den Hugo gewonnen hat: Michael Chabons Alternativwt-Krimi “The Yiddish Policemen Union“.

Von Kingfisher hab ich grad ihre Usher-Adaption gelesen und fand sie sehr gut. Adrian Tchaikovski fand ich wie Ralf auch sehr nett auf dem Elstercon, vermutlichen sahen das alle anwesenden Ralfse so.
Mal gucken, was da dann so zu uns rüber schwappt.

Von ihr wurde ja zuletzt so viel übersetzt, dass ich auch bei diesem neuen Titel einfach mal davon ausgehe.
Gelesen habe ich von ihm bisher "Kinder der Zeit" (fand ich grandios) und "Im Krieg" (eher so mittel). Aber von seinen Büchern gibt's wesentlich mehr unübersetzte als übersetzte, deshalb ... lassen wir uns überraschen. Aber dass ein Autor in der Kategorie "Best Novel" gleich zweimal nominiert ist, dürfte auch nicht alle Tage vorkommen.lapismont hat geschrieben: 7.
